ASK SOA TRANSPORT

Do I need to be a medical “patient” in order to use your service?
No. Many elderly people or those with disabilities or conditions that make it difficult to ride in a car for long distances use State Of Art Transport, Inc. The design of our vans allows them to sit in there wheelchair or lie down on our comfortable stretcher during the transportation.

My elderly father cannot travel alone on an airplane and we would like for him to join us for the holidays at our home miles away. Do you provide this type of service?
Yes. We will pick your father up at his home or nursing facility and transport him to yours.

Would it be all right for a family member or a caretaker to ride along during a transport?
Yes. We welcome up to three other riders to accompany the patient and there is no extra charge for this service.

My mother will be traveling with your service from a hospital in
Florida to my home in Tennessee. She will need medication enrooted. Can you give her the medication that her doctor has ordered?
No. we are not authorized to administer medication on board the vans. We can assist a patient with their medication, but not administer it to someone who could not otherwise do it themselves. Caretakers, family members, etc... Who accompany the patient may administer medication according to the wishes of the patient, their doctor and according to that person’s skill and training.

What hours will you pick-up and transport a patient?
We operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Many people prefer to be transported at night so that they can sleep during the trip. In many cases, doctors will order a sedative for a patient to have prior to their transport to help them relax while enrooted. Others want to be awake during transport to watch TV or to look outside while they are traveling.

What kind of notice do you need to schedule transportation?
We schedule our transports on a first come first serve basis. There is no required time frame but, if there is a definite date and time that you are needing, you should preschedule with us as soon as you have the information, even if it is weeks in advance.

Will there be a way to check on my grandfather’s status while he is on the road?
Yes. All drivers are in constant two way radio communication with our dispatch center. In addition, they carry cellular phones on board the vans during transports.

What is the cost of this service?
State Of
Art Transport, even with its unprecedented service, is still much less expensive than an ambulance. We are not an ambulance service and do not provide medical care during transport. We do use licensed CPR driver because of their training and experience in transporting patients and conducting themselves within the healthcare arena. Cost is based on distance and location. Please call or email us for a specific quote.
